Reverend Philip Setzer ("Pastor Phil")
Philip Setzer was born and raised in Catawba County, NC. After spending many years in the landscape and tree industry in Florida, he returned to NC to be closer to family and to prepare for ordained ministry.
Although Philip loves Creation and its many wonders, he loves people as God's ultimate creatures. This love and concern for others motivated him to leave the landscape business to cultivate not plants, but faith and hope. Philip believes that our greatest hope in this world and the next is found in God and Jesus Christ.
Philip is married to his best half, Marjorie. They have four children and seven grandchildren. While none of the children live at home, they have a German shepherd that is like one of their children. They love to camp, walk the trails around Stokesdale, and hike.
Pastor Phil encourages any and all to visit him at Mt. Zion. He can be reached at PSetzer@wnccumc.net or (336) 548-4455. His office is just inside the Fellowship Hall entry door at 3708 Ellisboro Road, Stokesdale, NC.
